Maths.scot is an ongoing project by Andrew Moulden, a Glasgow-based maths teacher, ex-PT and ex-headteacher, who now runs a tutoring centre
and is working towards an MSc in Computer Science.
Why create Maths.scot?
The original intention was just to support my own online tutoring during the first Covid lockdown, as outlined in this article
on the dotScot Registry website.
However, that limited goal has since expanded considerably. The aim is now for Maths.scot to be the simplest, clearest, fullest and most rigorous free maths resource for Scottish secondary students.
Device compatibility
Maths.scot uses a deliberately minimal design that displays neatly on all Apple or Android phones or tablets.
The website works correctly and is even more readable on larger screens, although the mobile-optimised layout may not fill wider displays. If this occurs, browser zoom will scale the page content to fit.
Our web app
works on any iOS, Android, Windows, ChromeOS or macOS device.

How Maths.scot is funded
Maths.scot exists to provide 100% free access to quality maths resources for any student who is self-motivated enough to make use of them. All original content is, and will remain, completely free of charge.
Website operating expenses are offset by generous donations
and by various sponsorships and affiliations, including the Amazon Associates Programme, through which commissions are earned on qualifying purchases.
Care has been taken to ensure that all advertising on Maths.scot is as relevant and unobtrusive as possible.
A word of caution
Phone addiction and incessant social media notifications are harming the ability of many young people to concentrate and achieve. So when using this or any other digital resource to study, please ensure that you have no distractions of any kind. If you find that impossible, perhaps you shouldn't be using technology at all. Consider switching off, detoxing your brain and using a good old-fashioned textbook instead!
